Learn to make apple and pumpkin pie from start to finish and get some new twists on traditional techniques. You’ll learn the proper methods for making pie dough, fillings, handling, decorating techniques and baking times with troubleshooting tips for the home baker.
Everyone will get to experiment with their own hand pie and we’ll have some of Raina’s amazing pies to taste while we work.
Raina Beresniewicz is Head Pastry Chef at Cake Life Bake Shop in Fishtown, voted best new bakery by Philadelphia Magazine. She’s dedicated to quality seasonal ingredients and gets the most satisfaction out of teaching and passing on the knowledge she’s gained working for various pastry chefs. Raina works with Cooks Who Care and Fresh Artists to encourage a passion and artisanship in pastry arts in others. She has worked at Flying Monkey Bakery, and Metropolitan Bakery and has been featured on the Food Network!
