Good Libations Market

Our local cider scene is growing! Join us at the farmstand to taste PA ciders from Ploughman Farm Cider, Commonwealth Cider and Kurant Cider. Greensgrow’s Farmstand runs by the motto “fresh, local and delicious”, and is an extension of our mission to bring Philadelphians quality produce and locally prepared provisions. We have a selection of our own organically-grown produce as well as local produce from within 150 miles from our long-time farmer partners. We are stocked with all local items including dairy products from raw milk to artisan cheese, cage-free eggs, pantry goods, meat-free proteins, and humanely and sustainably raised meats.

Ploughman Farm Cider is the proud maker of ciders made from apples grown in Adams County, PA. They grow, harvest and produce ciders from our friends at Three Springs Fruit Farm.

Commonwealth Ciders are traditionally fermented hard apple ciders made right down the street from the farm, our longtime community partners. Their ciders are fermented dry with no additional sweeteners, artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.

Kurant Cider, based in Perkasie, is working on a new space in our neck of the hood. Their ciders are crafted with inspiration from traditional French, English, and Spanish ciders and are ultra dry and unfiltered with a touch of American farmhouse character.

Kokedama Workshop

Kokedama

Registration Required. Kokedama moss balls or “string gardens” are a unique way to garden vertically. Learn how make your own at our workshop this fall. Kokedama, sometimes referred to as the “poor man’s bonsai,” is a Japanese method of planting in versatile self-contained moss planters that you can hang anywhere your plants flourish. Bring a breathe of fresh air to your indoor space just in time for winter!

Our expert staff instructor will walk you through the process of correctly mixing soil, transplanting, and wrapping your moss cover as well as at home care and maintenance. Everyone will take away the Kokedama you make in class with a choice of mini houseplants like Ferns, Peace Lilies, or Caladiums. And we’ll give you handy instructions for your next mossy creation. Extra scissors and gloves are always welcome! Get ready to roll up your sleeves and have some fun.

Maureen and David are our own horticultural experts behind keeping our Garden Center lush, happy and healthy and are here to offer their expertise to you, whether you’ve got your first houseplant or have been gardening for years.

PLEASE NOTE: Cancellations within 72 hours of the start of class are nonrefundable or transferable. Workshop refunds and transfers requested earlier than 72 hours before the class start time will be charged a $5.00 processing fee.
