We’re having free gardening workshops and cooking demonstrations, tours of our gardens and big farmstand full of local produce and lots of seed, herbs and veggie starts to inspire you. Our staff experts will be on hand to answer questions and give you tips on the best plants to grow for your space.
Free soil lead testing! Drop off soil samples from your garden and the Penn State Master Gardeners will follow up with results.
This event will be offered at Greensgrow Farms on May 19.

5:00-5:30: Cooking demonstration, lead by Chef Hugo Campos, featuring a vegetable item that is available as a seed start and at the farmstand
6:00-6:30: Workshop on growing fruits and vegetables in raised beds, and how to maintain and care for your garden in any growing condition with Staff Expert, Ari Rosenberg
Join us on April 14 to kick off a great spring season at Greensgrow Farms! We’ll be announcing winners of Mary’s Community Fund and celebrating the start of spring with food, flowers and fun. Community Plant Swap and Seed Swap from 12-2pm. Papermaking demo! The garden center will be stocked with seeds, soil, and spring annuals for this time of year. All quart perennials will be $1 off for the entire month of April to celebrate the start of the gardening season! Chef Carolynn will be serving chili from our community kitchen and Rowhouse Spirits Distillery will be joining us selling local craft spirits. Bring in your knives, Neil’s Sharpening Service is back!
Community Seed Swap & Plant Swap: Plant lovers, propagators and Members of Philly Plant Exchange are invited to come out to the Plant Swap to share cuttings and plants and seeds.

Nicole Donnelly from paperTHINKtank will be making hand made paper all day onsite. paperTHINKtank is a fully equipped hand papermaking studio located in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA, making stationery sets and custom papers to order for the aficionado or artist, hand-bound books featuring handmade paper, as well as offering classes and workshops.
