Tiny House/Giant Toilet

Design Philadelphia event that will take you through the student process of design of Greensgrow West’s tiny house and composting toilet. Plus a tour of the TINY HOUSE. This event takes place at URBN Center, 3501 Market Street, Philadelphia PA (the tiny house has not yet been installed at Greensgrow West).
Join the Drexel Department of Architecture & Interiors for a presentation and reception of two exciting student design build projects undertaken this past year. The TINY HOUSE class was in response to the Bodek Challenge. Hanley Bodek, a resident of Powelton Village challenged and financed students to design and build a tiny house. This tiny house will serve Greensgrow at its West Philadelphia location as a small education center. Greensgrow is also the beneficiary of Drexel Architecture student Matthew Wang’s design and construction of a sustainable, solar composting toilet affectionately known as the GIANT TOILET. Adjunct Professor Tim Kearney, AIA worked with students from architecture, interior design and product design for the TINY HOUSE and Professor Jason Austin was mentor and advisor to Matthew Wang for the GIANT TOILET.
