Tomato Jam Workshop with Marisa McClellan

Registration Required. For tomato lovers, there’s no better day than when the first sun-ripened tomato is ready for eating. This summer, tuck some of those seasonal beauties away in the form of tomato jam. This chunky, easy-to-make preserve is great served with cheese or as a dipping sauce for roasted potatoes. In addition to walking students through the process of making tomato jam, this class will also include general information about preserving tomatoes and making sure you do it safely. The class will employ a boiling water bath process, but pressure canning techniques will also be discussed. Each student will go home with a small jar of tomato jam. The class is taught by local blogger, canning teacher, and cookbook author Marisa McClellan.
