Greensgrow is popping up on Frankford Avenue on Wednesdays all summer! We will be conveniently located between the Girard and Berks St. El stops, from 4-6pm at the Lutheran Settlement House teaching garden, at Frankford Avenue and Master Street. Stop by on your way home and choose from our selection of the freshest produce around, organically grown less than a mile away at Greensgrow Farms in Kensington. We’ll have some of our favorite produce from area farms too!
Come out and support our teen farmers this season from Greener Partners Philadelphia Youth Network, Inc. Work Readiness program. They’ll be running the show; helping maintain the garden on Frankford Avenue, harvesting, planting and learning farming and market skills at Greensgrow Farms.
The Greensgrow farmstand is an extension of our mission to make quality locally grown produce available to more Philadelphians.
Established in 1902, Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) is a non-profit, community-based organization committed to serving children, adults, and families living in Philadelphia. Over the past century, the programs and services offered by LSH have changed in response to the evolving needs of the community. However, the core mission of Lutheran Settlement House — “to empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through an integrated program of social, educational, and advocacy services” — has remained constant.
