Fermentation Basics

Come out to our next winter farmstand and learn the some of basic techniques of home fermentation for fruit and vegetables from Greensgrow’s Executive Director and fermentation enthusuiast, Ryan Kuck! We’ll start a hard cider, a few simple kraut variations, and talk about pickles, hot sauce, sourdough, and other easy home ferments. Ryan will share some of his favorite fermentation books and give you the confidence to try some new things at home. Add a whole new zingy dimension to your kitchen.

Everyone will get to chop and mash ingredients, taste different combinations and learn to gauge ratios. You’ll get to choose a jar of one of the starters we’ve made in the class to take home.

Ryan Kuck is Greensgrow’s Executive Director, Founder of Cobblestone Krautery and former annual producer of 200 gallons of hard cider.
