GREENSGROW PEOPLE

People always ask us, “What do you do during the winter?”  Well, this year we hit the road to visit a few of our partners – the family farmers and small businesses who raise and produce many of the products we sell.  This gave us time to talk during the not-so-busy season and to learn more about the algebra that goes into producing peaches and the loving care that goes into raising baby goats.  We’d like to share a little bit of what we learned so you can getter a better sense of where your food is coming from.  After all, part of what being an urban farm means here at Greensgrow is bridging the divide between urban consumer and rural family farmer.  So read on to learn more about your family farming neighbors.  You’ll see that though our partners produce a wide variety of products, they have a few things in common – a love of farming, a commitment to quality and health, and an optimistic hope for the future of small family farms, as long as you, the consumer, stay involved.
