Registration Required. Do you want to grow varieties that you can never find in 6 packs? This is the perfect time to get started! Greensgrow’s Executive Director and our former farmer, Ryan will get your season started off right in this hands-on workshop. Everyone will learn as they plant their own tray of seeds to take home. (We’ll have tomato and peppers seed varieties on hand for you to choose from.)
Starting your seeds indoors allows you to develop healthy seedlings that will be ready to transplant out into the garden when the threat of frost has passed. Learn what to choose for your location, planning and planting timing, what kind of soil to use and why, soil temperature and watering for success. We’ll show you how to identify leaf sets and true leaves, when to transplant and how to harden off your starts. We’ll touch on nutrients, and feeding. You’ll get a handout to take home with our tips for maintenance once you get home.
We’ll have seeds and seed starting supplies for sale in the greenhouse to get you started. Don’t forget – you’ll need a way to transport your seed trays home!
It can get hot in the greenhouse even in March, please bring a hat, sunscreen, and water.
PLEASE NOTE: Cancellations within 72 hours of the start of class are nonrefundable or transferable. Workshop refunds and transfers requested earlier than 72 hours before the class start time will be charged a $5.00 processing fee.
