Registration Required. The city recycles your bottles and cans, but it’s up to you to recycle your kitchen and garden waste. Creating your own compost or worm bin takes organic matter out of the waste stream and turns it into a rich fertilizer for your plants and keeps your soil in good health organically! Healthy plants and soil are the best way to fight diseases in the garden. Greensgrow’s farmer, Deirdre will teach us about home-scale composting systems that will work for you, indoors or out. She’ll cover the importance and best practices of composting for gardeners and urban dwellers. We’ll take a look at a variety of composting methods, including traditional composting, vermicomposting (composting with worms) and compost tea!
